San Antonio Trip – Day 1

This year will be my grandparents 50th Anniversary together.  So my mother and her siblings have been planning a family reunion for quite sometime in San Antonio.  I’ve been really excited to go because I haven’t been there in a few years and I haven’t seen some of my cousins in forever!!!

photo 1 One of the best parts about traveling with my family is our van/bus.  It’s just plain awesome and huge! The way down each kid got their own row.  And we all ended up napping, because we could and it was pretty comfy too. J$ woke up and his hair looked so lovely, so I had to take a picture!

After about 5 hours of driving (traffic was horrible in a couple of spots and we had to stop once for food and a bathroom break cause I was going to explode!) we finally reached our destination, a hotel.  Which is very unusual for us because normally we just stay with family.  But it was a ridiculously nice hotel and us kids ended up getting a room to ourselves and the parents got to chill in the other one.  So after dropping off all our luggage at the hotel, we went over to the cousins house and had a ton of fun for awhile.  Then everyone else decided they wanted to go to the Riverwalk, but we decided Martha’s (one of the best Mexican restaurants ever) was a better way to spend our time and our parents money.  I haven’t had real Mexican food in forever and it tasted so good.

Then it was back to the cousins where we just talked and messed around outside in the beautiful weather (it was like 60 degrees!!!).  Later me and my favorite cousin Li-Li, decided that instead of going to see Tron (cause my parents wouldn’t let me because it was getting late…) we went to Half Price Books.  I love going there, we looked at all the DVD’s they had to see if there were any we wanted and then she showed me this really cool pop up book.  It was about prehistoric beasts and it was amazing!  This was the saber tooth tiger.

The amount of detail that goes into these pop ups are just completely amazing!  The woolly mammoth was huge!

Afterwards it was back to the hotel to sleep and all that boring stuff.
