I got my mother the best 50th birthday present ever!!! Dev and I spent Friday morning flying and then Papa Bear picked us up from the airport and took us to lunch (I was craving some Panda Express' Sweet and Sour Pork/Chicken but they only had Sweet and Fire Pork... I went with the Beef and Broccoli instead and stole some of Dev's Chick-fil-a fries of deliciousness), the Lego store and Disney store to kill some time so the other kiddos could get home from summer band. Then we surprised mother...
As you can see it was a complete surprise for her and totally worth lying to keep it a secret. After that we spent the day just hanging out and watching the olympics. We ate dinner at Cowboy Chicken (which was pretty delicious) and then we watched a couple of episodes of Doctor Who (we're awesome like that).
Saturday was band registration day and I volunteered to go with mother so that we could just chitchat while we waited for the two kids to get their stuffs. We watched more of the olympics and I also went threw a lot of the stuff I have still at home and packed it all in a big suitcase to take back. For dinner we went to this place called Torchie's Tacos... their mascot/logo is a baby devil... I was pretty scared but I was able to get something that I could actually eat that didn't burn my mouth off my face. Dev, J$, Boo, Papa Bear and I went to the pool for a swim and played some chicken (I won the majority of the time!).
I missed my Joey!
All the crazy kids!
Husband and I and the Birthday Girl... I swear the matching shirts were a complete accident...
Sunday was busy. Mommy had to conduct and give the lesson in RS so needless to say she was pretty nervous. She did a great job as always! After church we had a delicious dinner of pot roast and then it was off to the airport. Our flight in Denver was delayed for half an hour so we didn't make it home until about 1am. Needless to say we got in the house, made it into our PJ's and passed out, exhausted from our fun and exciting weekend in Texas!!! =D
