Sewing!

I bought a sewing machine... finally!

I needed a quick and easy project with only straight simple lines to break it in.

In activity days back when I was around 10 I made this really simple bag... It's kind of old now and I really should replace it. So I found this lime green fabric on sale.  I just cut the straps off the sides (they are too long though I have to go back and fix that)

Sewed them down one edge and then turned them to the right side. 

Then I sewed up the sides of my big piece of fabric leaving some room for the top.

Hemmed and sewed up the things for the straps to go in and I was done! I even did a fancy zigzag stitch on where the seam was exposed on the front.
