So for this Memorial Day weekend my parents decided to do me a huge favor and take a trip down to Austin and see the state capitol... and my finance... I was pretty excited all week long. We left Saturday morning and couldn't get there fast enough for me.
J$ got a cool hat at a baseball game that makes him look like Ash Ketchum from Pokemon. Yeah, we're that cool.
We went and ate lunch with my finance, Dev, and then we and checked into the hotel we were staying at. It had a pool so we decided it would be great fun to go swimming. For dinner we meet up with our aunt and ate dinner at Applebee's which was disappointing because we were planning on Salt Lick BBQ, but the line was crazy and we were starving. Then Dev and I left for our own adventure, went to a shopping mall and spent all of our time at the Disney Store!!! Then we got lost looking for Fry's and when we finally found it, it was closed... still it was nice to just spend time with him.
Sunday we went to the State Capitol for J$'s scouting merit badge. It was so hot outside but as always it's fun to see where all the government stuff happens.
We got to climb up a spiral staircase!!! It was exciting!!!
After sitting through three long hours of Singles Ward with three children who did not want to be there, we hiked up Mount Bonnell to enjoy the sunset and see the city of Austin. We were hoping to see a ton of bats, but apparently we were at the wrong place... we were sad.
