Chopped! Nelson Style

Since my family loves doing Chopped so much, the Goober and I thought his family would have just as much fun. And now that we have a big enough kitchen we could actually host it. 

For the Appetizer round, our mandatory ingredients were:

Broccoli Leaves and Stems

Granny Smith Apples

Summer Sausage

Team KK (Kade and Karen) with their delicious appetizer.

And Team SAD (Sam, Abby, and Dad) with their appetizer named Beardy the Weirdy.

After much deliberation on the judges part, Team KK was dubbed winner of the appetizer round.

The Entree rounds mandatory ingredients included:

Ramen Noodles

Chicken Breasts

Leeks

Something from the Garden

Team KK made a delicious Stir Fry

And Team SAD did as well!

Both dishes were so good! The Goober and I had a hard time deciding who was better. We finally choose Team KK due to their presentation choices.

For Dessert round, the mandatory ingredients were:

Cereal

Mexican Chocolate

Condensed Milk

Tamarind

Team SAD choose to make some yummy sauce toppings for ice cream.

And Team KK went with some no-bake cookies.

This round was a little easier to choose a winner, in my opinion the peanut butter and cinnamon in the no-bake cookies did not blend very well together, so the victory for this round went to Team SAD.

Which made our overall winner Team KK. But in all honesty, I think we as judges won. Everything was edible and mostly everything tasted delicious!!! I hope the contestants had just as much fun as the judges!
