My Mothers Birthday was today and all she wanted was for me to make her these butterfly cupcakes that are in Zach’s cupcake cookbook. You’re supposed to use orange and black candy melting wafers to make the wings but all we had was melting chocolate… so we made do with what we had! The cupcakes were triple chocolate fudge and they turned out beautifully cooked and oh so delicious! Then I only frosted seven of them because they were so good without the frosting and I’m a lazy person sometimes! It took for ever to make the butterflies. We had to melt the chocolate in small batches in ziploc bags and then pipe them out into the shapes of the wings. We tried dying the white chocolate with yellow and red food coloring but it made the chocolate not a consitancy at which you can shape it into the wings at all. But we finally did get some pretty cool butterflies to put on top of our cupcakes!
Happy Birthday Mommy!!!
