It's the Goober's birthday tomorrow, so he obviously needed a cake and what kind of cake would be better for a video game loving husband than a minecraft one! I showed it to him and he loved it!!!
This was my first time using fondant and it went pretty well. I should've cut the cake more square and made the white fondant a little smaller so the edges would be more apparent. For a first time fondant job squares are super easy to cut! I adapted a recipe I found online here. I didn't use any butter just crisco and I also mixed the powdered sugar in most of the way with my lovely kitchen aid. To melt the marshmallows I through them in my Kitchen Aid mixer bowl and placed it over some boiling water. I cut the recipe down to only use a 10oz bag of marshmallows and there is still a lot leftover that I don't know what to do with.
